SCRAP METAL MANAGEMENT
GAP handles the reception, selection and stacking of metal materials, managing the unloading operations of lorries and trucks with the aid of overhead cranes and loaders. It also separates and stacks materials according to the requirements of individual steel works.
The scrap metal is stored in piles and loaded into suitable containers such as baskets, skips and hoppers, in complete compliance with the specifications received, and taken to the EAF (Electric Arc Furnace) for melting.
Scrap metal is predominantly moved using overhead cranes and specially designed mechanical vehicles such as:
- Loaders with claw arms and pincers;
- Wheeled front loaders with scrap metal attachments;
- Multi-function excavators (magnet, shear, rail cutters, demolition pincer, wrecking ball);
- 250 tonne hydraulic self-propelled trucks;
- Special transporters up to 200 tonnes.
All loading operations are constantly monitored using appropriate software and data analysis systems, needed by the EAF to identify the correct fusion properties.
GAP's proven experience and know-how, supported by innovative machinery as well as the professionalism of its highly qualified staff, allows the firm to install entire "key-in-hand" scrap metal units, managed by specialist software which can provide detailed analysis of all the information needed by the client: casting output, management of casting analysis, physical storage, scheduling, cost analysis.
